Our debut started with the Evanston mashUP at the lakefront on September 17th. We were so lucky to be invited to showcase our food and beer among so many great Evanston businesses, including our friends and neighbors Ward Eight, and fellow Evanston brewers Temperance. Even though it was a grey and overcast day, the sunset came out and made for a beautiful evening.
We prepared one of our signature dishes, ham hock with salted caramel, as well as a curried pulled chicken bruschetta, both of which seemed to be crowd pleasers. We even had people approach the table saying they were told we were a must visit. So nice to finally get to bring our goods to the people and get great feedback!
Along with the food, we sampled out five of our house brews, including an American IPA, Saison, and an English Brown Ale! Can't wait to start selling pints and growlers of all of these yummy beers at Peckish. We also got to sample some great offerings from many Evanston vendors (Temperance's National Anthem Blueberry Wheat was one of our favorites that night!) It was wonderful to see and be a part of an ever-growing vibrant community of businesses in Evanston, and can't wait for more mashUPs to come!
